About

ROYHALE is an interdisciplinary spatial design and art practice based in Somerville, MA.  Our work spans from space to graphics, with experimental installation and environments for events in between.

ROYHALE was founded by designer, educator and artist Mary Hale, winner of the 2015 AIA Associates Award.  Mary received a Masters of Architecture from MIT in 2009, and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Brown University in 2002.  Her work is widely published.

Isabella Greco joins us in 2020 for her design co-op as a third year undergraduate architecture student at Northeastern University. Growing up in Chicago, she was surrounded by art and culture, sparking her interest in the world of architecture, installation, and sculpture, but more importantly, where the three meet. Isabella has a background in fine arts and loves to work with ceramics. She also enjoys traveling and has had the opportunity to study abroad in Prague and Italy. In her free time, she loves collaging in her sketchbook, creating textile art, and nurturing her garden.

Xavier Camarillo is a fourth year undergraduate studying Architectural Studies and Computer Science at Northeastern University. His focus in design is to create spaces that speak to people personally and make the built material into social experiences sparking childlike wonder. Xavi has a strong belief that all design must come from a place of discovery through play and be given to others in the same way. Outside of his work he explores film making, video game narratives, and animation to look into the world of storytelling and user experiences.
